Gammatime, which raised $14 million from the Kardashian family, is only a microcosm of the short-surge from overseas. In the last two months, there has been a convergence of information on the investment of local short play applications:
According to news on 24 October, Gammatime was invested $14 million in Kardashian and others for the United States-owned short play.
On 20 October, according to news reports, Mohalla Tech, India’s indigenous social media giant, plans to invest more than 70 per cent of the current fiscal year in short play operations, the enterprise’s QuickTV.
On 9 October, Fox announced an investment in the Ai short play company Holywater, which plans to produce over 200 micro-short plays for its short play platform My Drama within two years.
On October 3rd, the Indian “Himalayan” Kuku FM is financing $70-80 million, with Krafton leading it, to develop code-based mini-play content.
On 3 September, a well-known MCN firm, Rigi, launched the short play platform, Villalo, supported by several prominent investment agencies and angel investors.
On August 24, the Indian social play platform WinZO launched the short play function WinZO TV and has raised over $100 million for business expansion and for its 250 million users.
On August 12th, Dashverse completed a $13 million round of A financing with Peak XV, Stellaris Venture Partners and the original investor Z47.
As can be seen, the overseas short play lanes have gone from exploration to explosion. With capital added, localized content and technological innovation are driving in both directions, with a new phase of competition.
