iOS 26.5 Update on-line support end-to-end encryption of RCS information

With iOS 26.5 on-line, apples start testing end-to-end encryption of RCS information. The latest version of the Android and iOS systems will then send each other end-to-end encrypted text messages.

End-to-end encryption of information is an important privacy function that significantly reduces the risk of users being subjected to surveillance, such as hacking and communication platforms. Messages are encrypted when transmitted between devices and it is virtually impossible to be intercepted and read by others. Although iMessage has been using encryption since it went online in 2011 and Andre users have been able to communicate through end-to-end encryption since 2021, until now, it has not been possible to send messages between iPhone and Andre equipment. For many years, the communication experience between iOS and Anjo users has been unsatisfactory. Anzor users are unable to use the iMessage installed in apples, which have refused to support RCS information technology since 2020. The RCS, fully known as the Rich Communication Solutions, is a decades-old upgrade of the SMS, which aims to completely replace traditional SMS and MMS.

Today, RCS has become the new generation of international universal SMS standards, which bring such features as input indicator, readback, emoticons, longer message length and encryption. There are serious barriers between iMessage of Apple and RCS of Andre. Up to 2024, under the constant pressure of EU policy and Google, Apple was fully connected to the RSC standard of the Global Association of Mobile Communications Systems (GSMA) in iOS 18. The iPhone user can finally use high-quality graphics and view the read state when text is sent to Anjo users. Google had previously urged apples to support RCS text messages to make communications between the two companies more smooth. Before apples support RCS, iPhone users often encounter the problem of text messages from Andre friends that lead to the interruption of community conversations or the poor quality of multimedia sharing. Today, the long-term support of apples for RCS end-to-end encryption can help to further bridge the gap between iOS and Android SMS. The end-to-end encrypted RCS message is still at the test stage and the user may not be available for the time being. If the dialogue between Google and the apple device is encrypted, the user will see a lock icon indicating that the chat is protected.
